Yorkshire’s rising star Rowan Campbell-Pilling unveiled his GB3 car for the 2026 season at an event held at the Magna Adventure Centre last Friday.
The event also gave the Sheffield-born driver a chance to reflect on his multitude of successes in 2025 while looking ahead to his debut GB3 campaign.
On what the event meant to him ahead of the 2026 season, Campbell-Pilling said: “This event marked the end of one chapter and the start of another. It’s provided a unique opportunity to look back on an incredible year of racing, but also to celebrate the next step forward in my career.”
The 2026 season will give Campbell-Pilling the chance to add to his already successful resume, as over the past two years he has collected over 30 trophies and awards whilst also securing a top 10 finish in British Formula 4.

One of his latest successes came at the end of the 2025 season, in which he not only made his international debut but also finished third overall, after winning three further trophies, in the F4 UAE Trophy Series.
The 2026 season will see Campbell-Pilling feature in his first full European campaign as he makes the step up from British F4 to the UK’s premier single-seater category, the GB3 Championship.
On his move to the GB3 Championship, Campbell-Pilling said: “I can’t wait to get behind the wheel of the GB3 car, take on new circuits in new countries and embrace the challenges that come with them.”
“It is always such an honour to represent Sheffield on the world stage. It means a huge amount to me, and I can’t wait to do it again across Europe.”
For his GB3 debut he has been signed by Xcel Motorsport, the team that was responsible for his UAE win last year, which races in both the British F4 and MSV GB3 championships in the UK.

All of the GB3 cars, including Campbell-Pilling’s newly unveiled car, will have multiple upgrades ahead of the 2026 season, including in aerodynamics, the use of a Drag Reduction System (DRS) and a newly increased 2.4L engine.
On supporting Campbell-Pilling ahead of the 2026 season, Rachel Abbott, the Chair of Made in Sheffield and CEO of Cobra Sport Exhausts said: “It’s especially rewarding to partner with Rowan for the upcoming season, both at Cobra and as part of Made in Sheffield.
Supporting homegrown talent is at the core of what Made in Sheffield is all about, and having Rowan act as our ambassador is wonderful.”
The launch event was presented by Yorkshire’s own double Superbike World Champion James Toseland and saw Rowan Campbell-Pilling presented with the Sheffield Youth Award for Sport and Fitness Star for his dedication and commitment to motorsport.
The event was attended by a number of businesses and key figures from across the region, including the event’s headline partner, Cobra Manufacturing and Cobra Exhausts, who are part of a family-run and Sheffield-based manufacturing business.
At the launch event, Rachel Abbott also said: "At Cobra, we were absolutely thrilled to support this event, which shines a spotlight on Sheffield’s incredible sporting legacy and the strength of talent that continues to come out of the place we call home.”
“We can’t wait to follow his progress this season and cheer him on as he represents the region with pride.”
For the 2026 season, Campbell-Pilling is supported by regional partners: Altitude, Exol Lubricants, H. Harrold & Sons, Hydra Creative, Rathbones PLC, Simoda, Made in Sheffield, and UX Global.
