Armexis, the Harrogate-based armoured vehicle designer and manufacturer, has confirmed it has received letters of intent and pre-orders covering 90 armoured platforms as it moves to scale up production in North Yorkshire.

The surge in commercial interest follows the company securing initial orders valued at £17.5 million for four armoured vehicles destined for Ukraine, including tracked armoured personnel carriers and infantry fighting vehicles. First deliveries for that contract are scheduled for next year.

The company, which manufactures both crewed and uncrewed ground systems, is now seeking strategic investment, industrial partners, and technical talent to support facility expansion, supply chain development, and final engineering preparations.

Receiving Letters of Intent and pre-orders for 90 platforms is a major validation of the capability we are developing and the urgent requirement that exists for modern armoured vehicles that can be designed, manufactured and supported from the United Kingdom.

Armexis has outlined a long-term ambition to build a workforce of more than 4,000 direct employees by 2030. To support its immediate growth phase, the firm is initiating a recruitment drive focused on senior executive and technical roles, including a Finance Director and design engineers.

In addition to capital investment, the manufacturer is actively assessing site options for a larger production facility to accommodate higher-volume assembly lines and has opened discussions with several local authorities.
