Thomas Alexander Homes has shown its support for Sharow CE Primary School and Nursery with the creation of a new, construction-themed active learning area for early years children, reinforcing the company’s commitment to supporting the communities in which it builds.
The initiative forms part of Thomas Alexander Homes’ continued investment in the local area as work progresses on its Harcourt View development in Sharow. By partnering with the school, the housebuilder is helping to create a hands-on learning environment that encourages imaginative play, teamwork and early problem-solving skills.
Working closely with the school, the project will transform part of the early years learning space into a 'Little Builders' active learning zone. The area will include foam building bricks, child-safe hard hats and construction signage to bring the experience to life, helping pupils explore roles, language and collaboration through play.
As part of the project, Thomas Alexander Homes is also providing branded hi-vis waistcoats for pupils and supporting the creation of lightweight classroom wall graphics and learning resources to complement the new area.

Recognised by Ofsted for its strong teaching, supportive environment and well-developed curriculum, Sharow Church of England Primary School is a nurturing school in the heart of the village.
Discussing the initiative, Alex Blease, Managing Director at Thomas Alexander Homes, said: "As a business with community at its heart, it’s vitally important to us that we play an active role in the places where we build.
“With Harcourt View taking shape here in Sharow, we wanted to do something practical that supports local families and helps the school create an inspiring space for its youngest pupils. We sincerely hope this new learning area will be a fantastic addition for Sharow's nursery and reception-age children, encouraging communication, confidence, creativity and lots of fun!"
Jacqui Palmer, Headteacher at Sharow Primary School, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be working in partnership with Thomas Alexander Homes to create our new learning area. This collaboration reflects a shared belief in giving children the very best start, and in building environments where every child feels cared for, valued and ready to flourish.
“This new space will be a warm, safe and enriching part of school life - somewhere our pupils can learn, play and grow with confidence. High-quality environments have a lifelong impact on children, helping them feel secure, motivated and excited about their learning.
