Make October half-term one to remember with spooky thrills and short breaks at Alton Towers Resort
Families looking to make the most of the October half-term can head to Alton Towers Resort for a fright-filled autumn adventure with Scarefest 2026, alongside a host of rides, attractions and immersive experiences for all ages.
Scarefest
The all-new scare maze for 2026, Final Exhibit, officially joins the Scarefest lineup, alongside fan favourites including COMPOUND, The Edge of the Forest, Altonville Mine Tours: Tiny’s Revenge and more.
For those looking to get even closer to the action, a VIP tour of the Final Exhibit scare attraction offers an exclusive look.
Guests will experience a lights-on walkthrough, revealing a side of the scare maze usually hidden from view, while hearing more about its storyline, design and creative process from those behind the scenes.
Also new for Scarefest 2026 is Dine with the Dead, an immersive dining experience with a sinister twist. Guests are invited to join a dinner party hosted by the sinister Lord Vincent and Lady Lucinda Vile as they celebrate 300 years of toxic matrimony.
Returning for Scarefest 2026 is the The Alton Towers Ghost Tour experience in the Grade II listed Towers, following reports of eerie ghost sightings. Brave visitors will be taken on an immersive 60-minute guided ghost hunt through the mysterious ruins of the Towers - equipped with professional paranormal detection equipment.
Scarefest 2026 runs until Sunday 1 November 2026.
There’s plenty to enjoy beyond the scares, too. Younger visitors can experience the world’s-first Bluey ride - Bluey the Ride: Here Come the Grannies! - and families can explore the colourful delights of CBeebies Land.
Thrillseekers can take on the twists and turns of Wicker Man, explore the mystery of Th13teen, or face the stomach-dropping heights of Oblivion.
Scarefest short breaks
And for those who don’t want the adventure to end after one day, an autumn short break offers the chance to stay overnight and experience even more of the Resort.
Guests can choose from fantastical themed accommodation including the CBeebies Land Hotel, Caribbean-inspired Splash Landings Hotel, the fantastical Alton Towers Hotel and the magical Enchanted Village Woodland Lodges, with live entertainment and restaurants adding to the experience.
