Ciara Patterson, a degree apprentice at Sheffield Hallam University, and Ellen Campbell, an Architectural Technology student at Leeds Beckett University, were recognised for their academic and professional promise in the built environment sector. A third student, Nitta Thonskulprasert from the University of Sheffield, received a commendation.
Held in Leeds and hosted by law firm Knights, the awards bring together employers and educators to celebrate emerging talent in property and construction. The judging panel praised Patterson as “a trailblazer” and a brilliant example of the benefits of degree apprenticeships, while Campbell was commended for her confident, engaging approach.
Zoe Murphy, Chair of Women in Property Yorkshire & North East, said the awards helped to bridge the skills gap and improve gender diversity in the sector. “It’s important to recognise emerging talent locally and support collaboration between industry and universities,” she said.
Now in its 19th year, the awards are supported nationally by Amazon and Savills, and regionally by GFW and Ryder. The two winners will go on to represent the region at the national final in London on 18 September.
