With National Nutrition Month in full swing, HECK! is celebrating a major win after being named ‘Health Hero’ at the Food Manufacture Excellence Awards, recognising the company’s commitment to delivering healthier, great‑tasting food through continuous innovation.

The award highlights HECK!’s mission to make healthier choices easier and more enjoyable for everyone. From high-protein and lower fat products to veg-packed options and recipes designed to support balanced eating, the Bedale-based brand continues to raise the bar for what nutritious convenience food can be.

At the heart of this work is HECK! nutritionist Jemma Milne, who shapes the brand’s approach to nutrition, product development and consumer education, helping people make informed choices that taste great and support everyday wellbeing.

Jemma said: “National Nutrition Month is a great reminder that good nutrition should feel empowering, not overwhelming. At HECK!, we’re constantly innovating to make healthier choices easier and more delicious for everyone. If we can help people understand their food and feel good about what they’re eating, then we’re doing our job.”

One of HECK!’s best-sellers is its low fat, gluten-free and high protein chicken range, which includes sausages, burgers, rashers and mince

While the award primarily recognises HECK!’s work as a food producer, the company has also developed a strong reputation as a socially responsible business with a wide range of team and community health initiatives.

Alongside product innovation, the company supports staff wellbeing through initiatives such as access to a local gym, walking groups and health screenings - ensuring the same values that guide product development are reflected internally too.

HECK! Co‑founder Jamie Keeble added: “This award celebrates the bigger picture. Jemma has helped us shape a brand where nutrition leads the way, from product development to how we support our team. It’s brilliant to see that recognised.”

The Health Hero Award reinforces HECK!’s long‑standing commitment to its H.E.C.K Care Code, which prioritises Health, Experience, Community and Kindness as core values and marks another step in the brand’s mission to put the taste back into every day with delicious, hassle-free food crafted with quality ingredients.
