Focus4Hope, the West Yorkshire Charity supporting homeless, elderly, and vulnerable people, is having a birthday party, and everyone's invited!
The milestone marks a decade of crisis support, community outreach, campaigning, and life changing interventions for thousands of people across the region. The charity will celebrate by opening its doors of its Brighouse community hub to everyone on Wednesday 16 September and offering a drink and some birthday cake to visitors who want to show their support. As well as refreshments, guests will have the opportunity to speak directly with staff, volunteers, and trustees about the charity’s work and future plans.
Founded in 2016, Focus4Hope has grown from a small grassroots initiative into a trusted frontline organisation known for providing non-judgemental hands on support and being a voice for people who might otherwise get forgotten. The team has delivered food, water, clothing, hygiene supplies, domestic abuse support, mental health assistance, and homelessness outreach to thousands facing severe hardship.
The tenth birthday will offer supporters, partners, volunteers, and members of the public a chance to:
• Meet the team and learn more about the charity’s frontline work
• Hear stories from people supported by Focus4Hope
• See behind the scenes of the charity’s operations
• Discover how to volunteer, donate, or partner with the organisation
• Celebrate the achievements of the charity and its supporters
The charity’s tenth anniversary comes at a time when the cost of living crisis, rising homelessness, and increasing pressure on public services has led to the highest ever demand for its services. CEO Louise Reed said the anniversary is both a celebration and a reminder of growing need: “Our tenth anniversary is not the end of a chapter - it’s the beginning of the next one. Unfortunately the demand for our services is higher than ever, but we’re committed to expanding our outreach, strengthening our crisis response, and continuing to fight for the people who need us most.”
