A week after Donald Campbell's record-breaking boat, Bluebird K7, was installed in the Ruskin Museum in Coniston, his daughter, Gina Campbell, sat in the cockpit to thank the hundreds of people who have been instrumental in getting the boat back to Coniston.

An emotional Gina said:
“I don’t know how to thank the many people in all walks of life who have made this possible. Today is their day, and I thank them from the bottom of my heart. The boat is now in its spiritual home, and we look forward to the future.

"Today has just been fabulous, and I can't thank everyone enough!”

Donald Campbell was fatally injured in the boat on Lake Coniston in January 1967 while attempting the world water speed record.
